It's not a bad question.
I've wondered once or twice myself.
After all, the experience did result in a decent amount of stress, some lost sleep, and about seventy thousand dollars in student debt (not to mention meeting some of my best friends, my husband, and engaging in some terrifically fun debates).
At the time, I'd planned to become a legal reporter. My timing would've been good, too, except that my real interests were elsewhere.
But I'm jumping ahead. Let's go back to the beginning, where most stories start....
"Oh! It is only a novel! ...only some work in which the most thorough knowledge of human nature, the happiest delineation of its varieties, the liveliest effusions of wit and humor are conveyed to the world in the best chosen language."
—Jane Austin
"Thanks, Jane.
